Maine family documentary session ~ evening out clamming ~ maine Documentary Photographer
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to finally get this session in the books! I have photographed the Taylor family many times and have known them for years and absolutely love this wonderful family so much. This was the first time I met their youngest, sweet Georgia, who did everything to keep up with her three older brothers!
Rachel and I have talked about documenting their family clamming for years now but between the kids and parents busy schedule, the time of year and timing the tides it kept slipping away from us. Finally this year we set a date and the weather gods were with us and we made it happen. Clamming in Maine is so much fun and is something that Andrew and Rachel do with their kids multiple times a year - this was so apparent as the boys all knew exactly what to do and were all business gathering all different kinds of clams. Andrew is an national award winning chef and no doubt was going to make something delicious with everything they hauled in!
I won't give away some of their secrets but I learned a lot about razor clams, little necks and quahogs and how to find each one of them.
Documenting this for them was so wonderful and it makes me so happy that no only do they now have these memories of ALL of them but that they will be able to show them to future generations. I have no doubt these kids will be clamming with their kids and telling them how their grandfather used to do it with them! And who know maybe someday I will photograph 3 generations clamming together!!
These memories are so precious - it may seem like a simple family activity but if its special to you then its worth documenting, especially to show those future generations!! Contact me to discuss documenting your family!! patienceclevelandphoto@gmail.com
